5 Stars A Resting Development!
The Horton Knee Pod is quite the invention for alleviating the strain of holding your rifle in position for extended periods of time. It was listed in the Top Ten 2006 Hunting Innovations from Outdoor Canada.
The following is a clear and concise description from a website selling the knee pod, at a higher price than Amazon, I might add. I doubt I could improve upon it!
‘The Horton’s Knee Pod is a portable, lightweight, and versatile shooting rest featuring a U-Shaped saddle on the main assembly rod that fits over the user’s thigh just above the knee.
A telescoping rod fits into the main assembly rod with a locking pin and allows the Knee Pod to be adjusted to each individual shooter’s needs. The locking pin is attached to both assemblies by a cord that features a snap which allows your Knee Pod to be attached to your belt for easy transport. The telescoping assembly rod has a U-Shaped foam-padded rotating saddle for the forearms of crossbows, rifles, shotguns, or muzzleloaders. As a rule of thumb, if you shot from the right shoulder you should place the Knee Pod on your left thigh. You can fine-tune adjustments in elevation by raising your heel.’
I had a sore right shoulder from digging post holes and using the Horton Knee Pod made it a heck of a lot easier for me to hold my sight position. I simply positioned it above my left knee, as I am right-handed, and it held my rifle in the padded rest with no problem.
Give it a try, I’m glad I did. ~ The Boss
5 Stars just what I needed…
This welcome hunting addition will make my time in the woods much less stressful. I have rotator cuff problems in both my shoulders and had to give up using a compound bow this year. I have been experiencing problems with a shtgun as well. I cannot hold eith weapon for but a short time without support or on my lap. This will make it much easier to support eith my crossbow or shotgun.
